Modified handrail for the cat ladders
Where the cat ladder connects to a gangway on the roof, these must be connected together by braces. Weland Stål has developed the products: For this reason, we have developed a single handrail to replace the current models. The new handrail creates a 600 mm space. Same lateral buckling as previous handrail. Where the cat ladders are to be connected to a roof ladder/gangway, we have produced a ladder brace to connect together the cat ladder and the gangway. The length of the brace is adjusted during assembly, depending on the gradient of the roof. Handrails are normally installed one on each side, but in some cases, it may be sufficient on just one side. Where there is a gap that has to be bridged between the roof surface and the roof ladder, there is a hoop available for mounting on the handrail. Normally, a handrail is installed on each side. In come cases, it can be sufficient with hoops on just one side. The anchorage point/attachment point is for the lifeline. The attachment lug is mounted on the top of the handrail and is primarily for use when working standing on the step plate.
According to the industry standard, the distance between the handrails on the cat ladders must be at least 600 mm during passage. Single handrail
